The Layover

IMPORTANT NEWS: I am changing the layover period from one to two years. This is in large part due to how many things you want to have accomplished over this time. This is also because Sabellion mentioned to the DM when most people were gone that he'd want to "shack up" with Newin. That's fine, and keeping the marrige (lawful good get married BTW) on the down low, not making it central to the storyline is fine. However half-elf gestation is about a year. I doubt even wild horses could drag Newin away from a new born baby.

So Oriana will have a little cousin/brother to play with when they turn one years old. Sabellion has not given a name yet, though I look forward to it.

Yes this means crafters can craft for an extra year, thieves can steal for another year, bards can perform for another year, and fighters can fight for another year. I have a lot of stuff to develop, but I still need feedback.

On my plate:
Crimwinkle's Cohort (might be a worg)
Sabellion's Apology feat
How many potions can a cleric make?
Nicodemus and his treasure hunting.

So again give me any tasks not covered before hand, any additions to the fort I should know about, and GIVE ME 5 ITEMS you'd ask Nicodemus for before he went off traveling for wealth and magic items. Thanks, that's all for now.

  1. For all to know, Sabellian and Newin remember their Elven and Human names from 300 years ago:
    Sabellian: Zathe Ladok Meldin
    Newin: Ally Palmer (Meldin)
So for purposes of disguise these are the names they go by. They were married about 2 months after the battle with Aden and were married in the Temple of Paladine in Omach. Got names picked out for the prospective offspring (male/female? let me know RJ).

In the two years off, Newin and Sabellian got married and went to visit their respective homelands, dragging Crimwinkle along for good times and stories. They set up their Fighter Clubs in Omach (Pain Presinct) and Stoney Deep (Onslaught Outpost) with the help of Crimwinkle's diplomatic connections. Crimwinkle, Newin, and Sabellian purchase an Inn in Omach and run it for profit (very upscale joint, so there is a charge to get in) with a huge auditorium for Crimwinkle to perform. In the fort, several things are produced:
-(Assuming the chapel prepared in the fort is disambiguous with a statue of Gorim) Newin will erect a statue of Paladine opposite Gorim
-Erect a large statue of the original-bodied party near the entrance, reminiscent of the climactic "throwing of McKraken's head"
-Commemorative statue of the defeat of Aden (with all characters [us, Bucce, Queen, and soldiers of Omach and Stoney Deep] in the statue in homage to the lives lost)
-Set of 3 individual statues memorializing Sasha, Maiev, Dragon Lord Turdar Ransbur Crimwinkle Savior of Omach, and 3 statues showing the body transformations of Nicodemus, Sabellian, and Newin.
-New guard tower where the other one "collapsed" (adamantine battleaxe happened to "graze" the old one)
-Reworked path to Storvole Deep with a shrine of Bronze dragons triumphing over Blue dragons

Sabellian also has interest in one Fiery Tunic (it isn't overpowered!) and is willing to establish extra debts to buy it

  2. Thanks Sabellion, I will adress your "actions" in the sequence I read them. Oh and "its a boy!"

-Newin would be against erecting a statue of any god in a Chapel. Chapels are meant to be for all faiths. Maive was careful only to make it better, not make it a Gorum hang out. (cost 0gp)

    - Erecting a statue like this will take an artisan and a stonemason to work together, Luckily "Emir Chamber" who is Maive's follower will gladly offer to add artistic and sculptural skills needed. "Vale" who owes allegiance to Sabellion is a master stonemason and will find the finest limestone for Emir. Ergo, no working fee, however Vale will need more tools and supplies for such a large job. Work will take about 6 months for any job. (There are three options, 6' in diameter and 8' tall statue for 150gp, a 9' in diameter and 12' tall statue for 500gp, or a 12' in diameter 15' tall statue for 900gp.)
-This statue needs a location. I am assuming you think it is one and the same with the one I made you all draw. That is being paid for by Omach and being made by Omach. You are more than welcome to donate. If it is a smaller statue for somewhere in Fort Rannick, then let me know and I'll get some price quotes for you.
-I will assume these are for the fort. Omach won't agree to the erection of those, the main one by the graveyard with you in it will do. It sounds like this would be 6 separate statues, and I would assume roughly lifesize. You can use the follower labor you already have, and get the package deal done for 500gp, taking another six months. Otherwise you can pay an additional 600gp for hired help and have it done in 3 months. This sort of sculpture sounds like an in the inner courtyard sort of affair, while the bigger one would likely be outside, or in the bigger courtyard. Let me know, as location can change prices.
-New guard tower, takes about 4 months. Let me know if you want any special accremonts on it, otherwise it will be a basic guard tower, and allow advanced reconaisance on anything threatening the keep. (268gp exactly, you can save 40 by doing it when Vale is not busy with something else)
-Pathwork is simple, and as long as some of the followers who are warriors offer protection, the people in Turtleback Ferry will help with free labor. The work will take 2 months. I need more description on the shrine. Shrines are usually pretty simple, so I'll give some simple price quotes. (simple, wooden, few pews, and stone offering table, - 150, nice, wooden and stone, few sturdy pews, and nice stone relief offering altar -250, fine, few stone laid chairs, stone canopy over bronze set relief image - 400)
-I will put the fiery tunic in the queue of things that Nicodemus might come upon.

  3. The one of McKraken's head will be the 9'x12' (500gp). The statue of the defeat of Aden is for the fort, showing how fortitude and courage can defeat any foe. It will be a smaller version of the one in Omach, but is still a memorable event for the people of Omach and lands adjacent. I was thinking the 6 statues be erected in the inner courtyard and the "Victory over Aden" will be outside the main keep. The McKraken statue will be in the main grounds near the entrance to the fort. Since the dragons helped us and very much shifted the tide of battle towards victory, I feel that the best shrine we can muster is appropriate. Grand total for my recommendations: 1668gp + the Aden statue.

Also, kid's name is Nilex Sablemane Meldin

  4. Dave i dont think theres enough room inside the fort for all that. i do like the ideas of celabrating all our important battles. so instead of statues i propose we paint murals on the inside of the fort walls. Nic would be against any depictions of him in his new form. Also i thought Nic was sort of incharge of the finances for the fort and that Maive had the final word on it all. I feel that the fort should be used as a millitary outpost/tradingpost. i think everything in regards to the fort should be fixed and tuned for optimal functionality, but without all the flare.

  5. There is ALWAYS room for some flare. I'm all for murals and paintings and stuff, but i want a statue of McKraken's head in the courtyard

  6. I like the murals idea. Who is Dave barrowing all this money from? I can see it now, little Nilex crawling around, chasing little Oriana's tail as she toddles around...the parents all looking at eachother quizically...should we stop this or not?...they're probably fine. awww two little half breed children playing, how cute. I wonder how Sasha's dealing with being a big step sister of sorts....probably sewing baby clothes and saying weeeeeee or something.
